Topic:

ERTC credit review and amending returns for 2020 and/or 2021 tax years for S-Corporations. Tax preparers have due diligence to determine if the client is / was qualified to receive the credit(s). I will cover the life cycle in determining the ERTC eligibility. What documentation will need to be to determine eligibility. Even if you did not process the ERTC credit as a tax professional you need to: determine eligibility. If the determination was in fact that the client was not eligible for the credit, what do you do or not do as a tax professional. Once it is determined the ERTC is valid what needs to be done next: determine what was received for what period(s): wages, payroll tax, and interest and penalties refund. How to report on amended returns for S-Corporations pass through Federal and state. Impact on Kls and how to amend the 1040 and 540 personal returns. Audits what I learned by speaking with an IRS agent. Who might be targeted for audits and why
